High Range Lane, Mount Minderoo

This is a new contemporary country home. The building was located and orientated to capture national park views and panoramic views to the Blue Mountains, while taking into consideration site exposure and strong constant southerly winds. A ’U’ shape plan was created to separate living/entertainment areas from private library and sleeping areas. This created a protected internal courtyard that connected all areas. ESD principals were incorporated throughout the design, including cross ventilation, a 100,000L watertank, on-site sewerage system, fully integrated solar system, Hydronic heating throughout and intelligent use of materials for retaining heating and cooling.
