The additions to the rear of this existing single storey property is contemporary in design. The new works have a ‘light’ connection with the existing building by way of a passageway that contains a pond that allows natural light and cooled air into both the existing and new sections.

The new wing opens to the north and leads to a terraced and pool area. The roof slopes up to attract the natural northerly summer breezes for cross ventilation and draws in winter sun.

This proposal has been designed to be ‘secondary’ to the main existing structure – it is more of a added pavilion.

DA Approval is being signed off mid 2010
