Eddystone Nursing Home, BexleyThis is a new 120 bed high and low care facility that is in early schematic design stage. The buildings are built around a central secure courtyard which all living and dining rooms connect with. Many of the ground floor rooms and first floor rooms look onto this courtyard. The building form is broken into three buildings to reduce the scale of the built form so it fits well within its residential context. This also allows for vistas through the buildings from the courtyard to the surrounding streetscapes. The building steps in and out along the street elevations that which gives opportunity for external secure spaces that allos residence to connect with the street and community. There is a basement level that accommodates a therapy pool, commercial kitchen, laundry and straffing areas. All parking and service access is at this level. The project will be submitted for DA early 2012. |
